Bara Imambara (Asifi Imambara)

Bhool Bhulaiya - It should be your first destination in Lucknow city. Also called Asifi Imambara, this sprawling historical monument recalls the glorious past of the Nawabs and stands out for its austerity in style, proportion and symmetry along with unique techniques in architecture. This beautiful splendid building was built by 4th Nawab of Awadh, Asaf-Ud-Dowhala and the construction work was taken up in the year 1784. It took 14 years to complete. It was designed by the Architect Hafiz Kifayat ullah, Shahjahanabadi, a prominent Architect of that time. The famous Bhool Bhulaiya of Lucknow is constructed on its upper floor .

Rumi Darwaja

The Signature Building of Lucknow - On the main road - quite near to above complex. This looks so beautiful that you may not resist your temptation to have a close look at this 3 Storey building It is called the signature building of Lucknow and also Turkish Gate. Since it was made by workers from Rome, hence its name is Roomi Gate. The architecture design was made by Kifayatulla.

Clock Tower of Lucknow

Just after Rumi Darwaja, you will see 221' tall Clock Tower. It is called Hussainabad Clock Tower. The Hussainabad Clock Tower is truly the finest structure of British architecture in India. It was built by Hussainbad Endowment Trust in the year 1887 at a cost of 1.75 lakhs at that time, to mark the arrival of Sir George Cooper, who was the first Lt. Governor of the Awadh.

Lucknow Residency

A silent witness of the First war of India's Independence - The history of the Residency can be traced back to 1774 AD when Nawab Shujauddhaula agreed to have a British resident stationed in Awadh.

Tomb of Saadat Ali Khan - In Hazratganj area, this beautful Maqbara was constructed by Badshah Gajiuddin Haider son of Nawab Saadat Ali Khan, This Maqbara is really beautiful and stones are carved with beautiful designs. The floor of the building is made of marbel and other precious stones. 4 burj and multiple doors The grave of the Nawab is in underground Tehkhana with 16 stylist windows.

Lucknow Zoo and Museum

Lucknow Zoo was found in the year 1921 with the Name Prince of Wales Zoological Gardens. The Zoo has about 430 mammals, 261 birds, 40 reptiles and a total of 97 different species of wild animals. Some prime possessions are the Royal Bengal Tiger, White Tiger, Lion, Wolf, Hoolock Gibbon, Himalayan Black Bear, Indian Rhinoceros, Black buck, Swamp Deer, Barking Deer, Hog Deer, Asiatic Elephant, Giraffe, Zebra, Common Otters, Hill Mynahs, Giant Squirrels, Great Pied Hornbill, Golden Pheasant, Silver Pheasant etc.

Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Samajik Parivartan Prateek Sthal

Earlier known as Ambedkar Memorial or Ambedkar Park, the memorial is dedicated to Dalit leaders. The entire memorial is made of stones, constructed at the bank of river Gomti in Lucknow and is dedicated to the glory of leaders, Shahuji Maharaj, Kanshi Ram and others. Presently, It can be viewed from outsite.

Chandrika Devi Temple

According to the temple history, the elder son of the Lakshmana who is founder of the Lucknow , Rajkumar Chandraketu, was once passing with Ashwamegh horse through the river gomthi. On his way,it became dark and he had to take rest in the dense forest. Hence he prayed Goddess for the safety. Within a moment there was cool moon light and the Goddess appeared before him and assured him. It is said that a grand temple established here during that era was destroyed in 12th century by foreign invaders. It is also said that around 250 years back some nearby villagers, while roaming in the forests, located this beautiful place which was hidden with dense forests. This place is also known as Mahi Sagar Teerth.
